about me

I am a retired school teacher and live in Hemingway, South Carolina, which is about 40 miles from Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. I taught Family and Consumer Sciences(formerly,Home Economics).I now work at the Boys & Girls Club of America here in my hometown. I also am a substitute teacher.Once a teacher, always a teacher. I enjoy cooking, especially for friends and family.I even prepare meals for my co-workers and take to work. They really enjoy them. Some foods I prepare, they have never had.My biggest meal of the year is at Christmas. Since I am not married and no children, my mother and brother and his family comes for Christmas dinner. He has 8 children (whom are all grown up) and 6 grandchildren. So, I begin preparing,making the menu, buying items for dinner the day after Thanksgiving.

Favorite Foods:

My favorite food is seafood.I like all seafood,unless there is some strange creature that has been discovered lately. The strangest that friends would say I like is ocotpus and squid. I am always trying to find new ways to prepare seafood. I guess you can say I am famous for my broccoli casserole.This is always demanded at dinners.Now, I am going to try another recipe for it I found on Zaar. I hope I don't disappoint my family for Christmas.
Fun for me is cooking, fishing and relaxing.

My biggest accomplishment is having been a teacher and reaching as many young minds and seeing some of those become teachers, doctors, lawyers, mothers,fathers,citizens of the society is a really good feeling.

NOTE: 12/26/07 I made the crab broccoli casserole for Christmas, it was a hit.
