about me

Hi there! I'm a writer by soul, and a cheerful, in-depth experimenter with pretty much everything else. Currently I am also a junior in college majoring in Cross-Cultural Studies. I've done some form of cooking ever since I was six, with a particular fondness for baking. A few years ago I was diagnosed with various allergies and intolerances, including wheat, apples, bananas, pears, yeast and most things that are fermented! It radically changed my cooking style and thankfully opened up a whole new world of cuisine to try! However, I have plenty of people who still enjoy the treats I used to make (and eat), so I have the best of both worlds; playing around with high-calorie dishes without having to eat them!

Favorite Foods:

Favorite cuisine: Indian and Mexican.

Favorite Savory Food: fresh seafood with drawn butter, tacos, and curry.

Favorite Sweet: double-chocolate layer cake and homemade frozen yogurt (any flavor).

Cooking Weakness: I'm still working at fish, and I'm still fighting the maternal legacy of messing up non-instant rice.

Famous For: making miracle meals out of leftovers, tricking my no-diet friends into eating healthy goodies, and sticking as many veggies as possible into a meal.

Favorite Restaurant: a little local place, Gaffron's Sunrise Cafe. I used to waitress there until it was closed due to money problems and lack of patronage. We served a wonderful(and wonderfully affordable) spread that reached from the basics of hot roast beef sandwiches and fried eggs to cranberry-orange french toast and lentil walnut burgers, not to mention the famous Sunrise cheesecake! All the breads and baked goods were homemade, down to the white bread for toast.

I'm also sold on any authentic Mexican or Indian restaurant, and I appreciate Eat N Park in the US because they are friendly and accommodating to people with food allergies.
