I was born and raised in Berlin Germany. Came to the USA as a young bride. Lived In Wisconsin for 41 years, Where I had an Art-Studio and taught Fine art and Folk art techniques. We are now retired in the Sunny South.
Cooking is my passion. I am sorry that many people are intimidated by my cooking, and are afraid to invite us over for a meal.
I also love to read, do arts and crafts, and decorate our home.I love classical music and we mentor foreighn students in the School of Music here at USM.We love being around them. I collect cook books. I still use the first cook book given to me when I came to the states." The River Road Cook Book", by the Junior Leage of Baton Rouge, La. My mother in law gave it to me. We love Seafood and I have become a good Southern Cook,I am told. I have been asked and do teach cooking classes at the University here. It is a program for "Learning in Retirement". You have to be 55 or older to join. ![]()

Any kind of Seafood.
Crawfish Etouffee
Sauerbraten and Dumplings, also Beef Rouladen, and at Christmas I always have to make either a Blackforrest Cherry Torte or A Flaming Apricot Cake. Both are labour intensive, but worth it.
If I could only subscribe to one magaziene It would have to be: "Southern Living" They have the best Recipes!
I now have to say, that Southern Living Mag. is not what it used to be. My newest favorites are: "Cooks Illustrated" and "Cooks Country".
