I am 41 years old, single, raised in Texas and I love to cook!!! I have been doing it since I was a child helping my mother and I have been hooked ever since. I learned most of my skills on my own, reading cook books, watching chefs on TV (a lot of that) and most of all trial and error. I have a small library of cookbooks, ranging from "The Art of Smoking Food" and "Texas on the Halfshell" to Jeff Smith's "The Frugal Gourmet On our Immigrant Ancestors" along with many ethnic cookbooks.
I have made a lot of good friends here on Zaar, hello Zaar friends! If any of ya'll Have AIM or are on AOL, put me in your buddy list and PM at me some time! Same name as on here - Chipfo
This is my German Shepherd, Gretchen
Since I have no children she fills the void, I do however have 3 beautiful nieces in which I adore, at this date they are 6, 4 and 2 years old.

My brother and I used to have a barbeque stand many years ago on Lake Palestine, we served all the good stuff - sliced and chopped brisket plates or sanwiches, ribs, smoked chicken, sliced pork, sausage and all the fixins, including potato salad, our famous coleslaw, beans etc. In the picture above you can see the huge smoker we had in the screened in room I built.
Below is a veiw of the whole outfit.

I also love to sail, if you click on my website at the top of this page right below my name you can see the restoration I did on an old classic, a Westerly Nomad, I love this boat. I also love my Hobie 18 Magnum, I have won 3 trophies racing the Hobie Cat, from bouy races like the Mid-Americas to long distant races like the Ruff-Riders, a 2 day race starting at S Padre Island ending in Corpus Christi. Below is a picture of me and my brother at one of the races, or as we call them - regattas.

I don't think we placed at this one so we were just showing off for the photographers.
OK, one more picture, below is my Westerly -

If you go to my website (Bottom of this page) you can see the inside and out of this boat I restored.
I cook a lot from what is available in house (I keep it stocked) and what I believe will be good, freestyle cooking if you know what I mean, using the knowledge I have gathered through the years. I also do a lot of traditional family recipes and home-style cooking. I like all types of food, to pick one would rebellious to the rest (Mutiny I tell ya!!) I love other people's cooking just as well, or even better than mine. I like almost everything.
Pet peeve: I just don't understand those "extra picky eaters" that, seems to me, just don't like anything (we all know them). But I am still friends with them all.
They don't know what their missing!
