Tossed Salad With Mandarin Oranges

This salad goes good with any main dish and is especially nice with BBQ. Easy to carry to picnics or potlucks too! Just 4 ingredients make it fast and easy! Fits into many catagories for the Zaar World Tour especially SW.Taken from a Louisiana Cajun French Church Anniversary Cookbook.

SERVES 8 (change servings and units)

Directions

    In a large bowl tear lettuce into small pieces.
  2. 2
    Drain oranges and reserve 2 Tbsp of juice.
  3. 3
    Mix reserved juice, vinegar, onion powder and garlic powder with miracle whip until smooth.

    Add drained oranges and onions to lettuce.
  5. 5
    Drizzle miracle whip mixture over all and toss to coat.
  6. 6
    Serve immediately.

I omitted the onion but next time I'll try it with green onion. I used mayonnaise. This was really good. Thanks Hope. Made for Beverage tag.

    Great quick and simple salad to get together. I subbed green onion for the red as it is what I had on hand, otherwise, followed as written. Then to my serving I added a little salt and pepper. Thanks for sharing a great salad recipe. Made for bevy tag.

    Great Salad!!! So easy with so few ingredients but really wonderful! I added cracked pepper and some fresh thyme to the dressing (and chose mayo over miracle whip). I used red leaf lettuce and spun it in the salad spinner.. so crisp and sooo good! Thanks Hope!

    Nice and easy salad.I used fresh crushed garlic and some roasted almond slivers; lovely. I made this for the WY3. Thanks for posting. Rita
