Throw Away the Bread Machine Instructions!.... White Bread

This is pretty much a foolproof method for a wonderful white bread.

SERVES 12 (change servings and units)

Ingredients

Directions

    Place the water into the bread pan.
  2. 2
    Sprinkle the sugar then the yeast over the water; allow the yeast to foam for 10 minutes.
  3. 3
    Add in the melted butter, oil, flour and salt.
  4. 4
    Select the BASIC or WHITE BREAD setting and press start.

Perfect bread, a little sweet for me, so I will decrease that only in the next batch to maybe 3 or 4 teaspoons . Otherwise a nice bread, that I will try again.

    Thank You Kittencal! You saved my bread machine from the trash bin. Wonderful recipe. No more hockey pucks for me. Makes the greatest toast too, which my husband truly appreciates. I wish the bread machine instructions would tell you, you can proof your yeast. I think the sugar makes all the difference. Of course I don't think you could do it this way on Delay Start, but I never do that anyway. Love the name too. Really caught my attention and was true. Followed your instructions to a T. I do so appreciate your posting this. Terry

    Wonderful bread Kitten, thank you for posting this recipe! I did use the melted butter instead of oil and kosher salt. We enjoyed this with your Hearty Tomato-Beef Soup #326634 and when we were finished there wasnt much bread left.
