    This recipe will make about 2 dozen cakes depending on how you pour them.

    Mix and then sift all the dry ingredients into a bowl.
  3. 3
    Add the well-beaten egg to the liquid.
  4. 4
    Add the liquid mixture to the dry ingredients very gradually, and stir quickly.
  5. 5
    Now add the melted butter, egg whites.
  6. 6
    Hint: Turning the pancake more than once makes it firm.

These are pancakes in the US sense ie closer to pikelets than crepes. It is a very thick batter but despite this the end result was a lot lighter than expected. They were a lot less cheesy than expected which was a surprise.

    These were pretty good, however I couldnt really find anything that I liked on them...Maple syrup really didnt go well with the cheese, and the tomato sauce just wasnt doing anything for me with pancakes.. so I just ended up eating them plain. They were good plain, but I would have enjoyed them more having something I liked over them. I will try and find a sauce of some sort that I will enjoy over these, and next time I might try using safflower oil instead of butter. Thanks for the recipe.
