Burgers With a Special Touch

Recipe #337109 | 20 min | 10 min prep | add private note

This is based off of an Ina Garten recipe, changed slightly due to personal preference. This is a moist and flavorful burger that my whole family loves. If you're tired of the same ol' same ol' burger, give this a try! You can either use an outdoor grill or an indoor grill pan. Can easily be doubled, etc..

SERVES 4 , 4 generous burgers (change servings and units)

Ingredients

Directions

  1. 1
In a large bowl, mix the meats, steak sauce, egg yolks, salt and pepper. Don't overmix.
  2. 2
Lightly form 4 hamburger patties and press lightly into shape.
  3. 3
Press a thin slice of butter into the top of each hamburger, making sure the meat completely encases the butter.
  4. 4
Heat your grill and cook the hamburgers for approximately 4 minutes on one side, turn , and cook for approximately 3 minutes on the other side for medium rare.
  5. 5
    *Adjust cooking times to suit.
  6. 6
Remove to a plate and cover with aluminum foil and let rest for 5 minutes.
  7. 7
Meanwhile, grill the buns, cut side down, for 1 minute, until toasted.
  8. 8
Adorn with your favorite toppings or cheese and enjoy!

I made these for lunch today and they are delicious!!! I saved enough meat to make one 6 oz. burger, but then 16 yo DS decided to was staying 1st for lunch then leaving, so it became two 3 oz burgers!!! My DS asked if I seasoned the meat, I just said yes with salt and pepper, he then said it tasted more like steak than a burger, lol!!! The neatest thing was seeing where the cold pat of butter had been, there was a hollow square the size of the butter pat!!!! Thanks for sharing LifeIsGood. Made for Holiday tag.
