Garlic Green Beans

This is one of our very favorite side dishes. Simple and delicious.
SERVES 4
Ingredients
- 1 lb fresh green beans
- 2 cups water
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/8 teaspoon pepper
Directions

Bring beans and water to a boil, reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes.2
Drain and set beans aside.3
In lg skillet, saute garlic in butter until light brown.4
Add beans, salt and pepper.5
Heat through.

This was a great side dish for our Thanksgiving dinner. We all liked them and we will have from now on when I make green beans. I used fresh green beans and left them whole. They were yummy!

This was very good, eliminating the butter might take out all the fun, but I do believe that it could be cut in half without notice. I also steamed the green beans and then added them to the garlic butter going very lightly on the salt (just a dash). Fresh veggies just can't be beat! So many other veggies could be done exactly the same way - mushrooms, onions, snap peas, etc. etc. Thanks for another great simple one.

Exactly like the green beans I get at our chinese buffet! what a happy surprise to find this recipe and be able to have them at home, I steamed the green beans instead of boiling them, and in the future since I am cutting fat I am going to try and just omit the butter, it HAS to still be wonderful! Thanks Inez!
